Pumpkins

Scary pumpkin

Pumpkin Jack or the chosen pumpkin.

Chandran got pumpkin Jack from Butterfield's a few days ago. They have their pumpkins for display outside the store. As Chandran was deciding which one to take home an old man comes up to him and says as he pointed to Jack "this is the one", so Chandran bought it. As for scary pumpkin I picked it up at Eli's. When we started carving it its skin was so thick that it was almost impossible to cut throug, this is the best we could manage, we all thought it looked quite frightening. We are going over to the McCann’s tomorrow for a Halloween party. The costumes are not as well coordinated this year. Chiara will be an elf, Nick a cowboy and Laura a princess fairy.

Canoe Trip

Glare was a big problem.
Here are one of the eagles, the creepy guys, the bittern, and a nice pic (one of many) of Susi's.

It was a good canoe trip: terrific weather, saw 2 Bald Eagles at close range, Susi paddled all day and part of the next with me in the dependable tanker, the aluminum canoe, Kalyani canoed in the kevlar solo canoe. Our group was small with Sherril and Jim, Jeane and Janet. At the locks on our lunch break we helped 3 other boats go through the locks, then ourselves.

Chiara had her first French Horn lesson yesterday. It went well she made a sound. The teacher is very nice.

Life imitates art

This article reminded me so much of the song “A professional Pirate” from Muppet Treasure Island that I had to share it.
