Car Trip

Cedar Breaks National Monument Utah

Escalante Utah

Overall it was in incredible trip. We all really enjoyed Utah, the natural scenery is quite spectacular. We had a lovely time with the Koerner's in Colorado. Sandy had rented this huge house in Frisco, this was good as we were joined by some friends of theirs and Teddy's.
Colorado

Hot Springs Arkansas was really nice, didn't even know it existed till we stopped there.

A special thanks to Eliza for taking such good care of Gus and Po.

Happy Anniversary Grandma and Popop!

60 is more years than most of us have been alive, which makes sense.

Also happy 10 year anniversary to your 50th anniversary in Rhinebeck!

Geneva II-Annecy

Annecy is lovely. We went there to meet Monica and Joe, Noah's friends from the Peace Corps. They live in Lyons, but Joe had worked in Annecy, so he picked the restaurant.
Annecy

We were traveling with Ashwani's colleague, Mike. He was very easy company.

Geneva I--Chamonix

We had a really wonderful few days in Geneva. It's a friendly place, and easy to get by in English. We went to Chamonix/Mont Blanc and Annecy in France as well. These pictures are from Chamonix.
In Chamonix: You can see a small group of people hiking down this ridge.

This is looking straight down.

We took two gondola rides to get there. The second was scarier--we were a kilometer in the air.
We were above the clouds.

Here is an ice cave at the end of another scary gondola ride. It used to be that the gondola took you to the glacier, but now there is a 500-stair hike down.

This sign marks the 2015 extent of the glacier. You can see it below.

This is the last bit of the hike up. You can see the gondola above.

Lovely Weekend

We had a lovely weekend in Saugerties. Chandran, Chiara and Laura, who is done with school, went up on Thursday. Nicky and I joined them on Friday, we took the bus. Chiara's friends Eva, Mimi and Kate came to visit.  Saturday was a beautiful day, I even got the courage up to go swimming.
Laura is taking a two week music and drama summer camp at her school, today is her first day.

Travel Plans

Hi, I just thought this would be a good place to have our travel plans (thanks Kamala). Ours are the following:

June 29 departing from NYC to San Francisco, arriving in the evening. Staying at the Palace hotel. Be aware that the dates for the Pride Parade are June 29-30. Chiara’s fiend Mimi, who you met, is from the Bay Area, she said that the city gets crazy busy.

We start heading up the coast on July 2 stopping in Monte Rio, we plan to arrive at OZ on the 4th. After OZ we will drive to NYC. We plan to be back in the city by July 24.

The Water is High

The toilet froze in the winter and a piece dropped right out, so I went out to meet the plumber. Since we were there last week to meet the assessor (victory in that matter, by the way!) we had a a day of big waves.
Rocks were thrown up on the grass.

The pole has been deleted.

High water mark of driftwood.

I could not easily step down onto the rocks. In the video, you can see that the water is above the step.

This Little Guy

I called Lollipop Farm, and they said it's typical for a doe to leave her fawn for long periods of time. It's also typical to leave it near human habitation, since they know there are fewer predators.
