News from Noah

Ashwani spoke to Noah on the phone yesterday. he has moved to his homestay in, I think, Mbour. It's near the ocean. The family has nine children. He doesn't has enough Wolof yet to find out what the father does for a living. Noah really likes it there. He says it's like India--eveyone thinks you should eat more. His PC supervisor comes every day and they walk on the beach and practice Wolof. He bought a bucket in the market and bargained.

This was the last recital with Rachel, our wonderful piano teacher. She and her family are moving to London in August.

Ahhhh...

busy time

Noah and his friend, Walter, came to stay with us on Wednesday. They were in the city to have dinner friends. It was nice to see Noah and say goodbye before he goes off to Senegal.

On Thursday Vinod came to stay with us for a few days. In the mornings Vijay and Junu would pick her up for a tour of NY city. We all had dinner Together on Friday. Friday was also Chiara's graduation from Middle School. It was a very nice ceremony.

Saturday we went to Rhinebeck to visit with Maya and Guy. It was lovely to see them, the kids got along really well. Today we met up with my old friend Jessica and her little girl and had the pleasure of seeing Loraine and Chandran, before we headed back to the city.

We are looking forward to seeing Janice and Madhu later on this week, they are coming to see the twins piano recital on Thursday.

Stratford and our beloved maestro!

Had a great time with Noah in Stratford, we did think of you several time Sammy. Good plays (3) and really good food. Then the wonderful final concert from Christopher Seaman. More pics on flickr

Neeru

Neeru was in a terrible scooter accident. She will eventually be fine, but she's fractured her pelvis and deeply gouged her back. She'll be in traction for months. Her friend, Kamo, is still in critical care, and her prognosis in not certain. Neeru was wearing a helmet. They were hit by an auto riksha that had been hit by someone else and bounced into them.
