Thank you all for a lovely time.

Europe pictures

I uploaded some of my Europe pictures, though there is a weekly limit so the rest will be up next week. And next weeks pictures are more interesting in my opinion, I go into ex-commie territory. Anyways here we go, they are all in reverse chronological order because flickr made me. Descriptions on pictures contain some story material.

Change of plans

Chiara will not be confirmed this year. Her class trip was scheduled for the week of her confirmation. I spoke to the director of Religious Education and the best solution is that she will be confirmed next year. She will continue to go to classes and do her volunteer work for this year.

The weekend

We had a very nice weekend. Ashwani, Jo and Susi came to New York. Susi stayed with us and Ashwani and Jo at Kamala’s. Junnu joined us for dinner Friday and then again for lunch, at Saravanaa’s and dinner at our local Chinese. It was nice to see him. I took the big girls and Isabella, to see the new Narnia movie. It was fun. I took Isabella home and was given a tour of their new apartment.

The tree is up

We put our tree up yesterday. Today we went to see the Christmas shops at Union Square and had brunch at Rosa's.

Are we getting presents for everyone this year or just for kids?

Nicky at the shake shack

Because of parent teacher conferences yesterday was a half-day of school for the twins. Chandran and I picked them up and headed to the Shake Shack on 86 street for lunch. Needless to say it was crowded, mostly with PS 6 families. Nicky was too busy enjoying his burger to notice that the rest of us were finishing up the fries. When he did notice he simply went over to the girl sitting next to us and took some of hers. Luckily for us everyone in that group found it funny. Her mother said that she had often been tempted to do such a thing herself.

Both Nicky’s and Laura’s conferences went well.

New York week end, did it happen?

I left my camera in NY. I will see it again on Thanksgiving.

We had a nice time. Chandran and Sara went to Long Island to a wedding and stayed over. We took C, N, and L to the Big Apple Circus. Then to Rosa Mexicana for dinner. Nice trip!

The rug man

In 1995 we went to Turkey. We bought a rug. Since then when the rug merchant comes to NY he calls us. This time we asked him to come and show us what he had to offer.

We now have a new rug

Yes, finally!!

3 eggs!! In the nests, as hoped for. Three in one morning, at 5 1/2 months. Those chickens were so smart to figure out where they were supposed to lay them. The eggs are small, that is as the book says could happen at first. I am happy.

Sorry to post the same day as Sara's lovely post. But, I figure everyone wants to hear this news. Even you Sam??

Blue world!

The patch gave me a feel as if I were one of the chickens turning my head to get a clearer look. I could not read with the patch either. Fortunately, Dr. Smith took it off this morning, and instead of the lovely yellow appearance of the world through the 70 something lens, the world is blueish and I can read already without glasses. Now to make a cake for that lovely 17 year old. It is to be a vanilla pound cake with chocolate frosting.

Fall

I bought this apple peeler, slicer AND corer. I KNOW you cannot do 3 things at once, well. But I fell for it. The Red Maples are showing color, very nice. Don is digging out the 'pond'. I will put pictures on the flickr site.

Thank you Suzanne

Suzanne sent us a family ticket to the Maker fair in NYC. It was great, gadgets and inventions plus fun shows. The favorite was the human size Mouse trap ( you know the game). We bumped into Matt, Chandran's biking buddy, he was there playing his accordion and handing out free cds. When Chandran pointed him out to Chiara she thought it was a joke. So thank you again Suzanne for a wonderful time.

Celtic Fest

The girls had a lovely henna job done. The kilts were lovely. I looked up Hewitt on the charts, we are there, I tried Bacom, not a Scot. After visiting Scotland, I thought I looked Scottish, the build and the hair.
