Important Message from Jo rocks

Hannah and I are going to Disney tomorrow. We leave right after school. I will be spending the 24 bus ride with a bunch of people I like very little. Sounds like fun, huh? Well I am excited about marching on Friday. We will be first in the parade marching out with mickey. I thought you should all know in case you were looking for me.

Dinner with Su

Su came for dinner last night. It was very nice to see her. She looks good and is doing well. She is in town for business. She works for a skin care company and they invited her to NY for a one-day training seminar with the founder, Anthony.

New Chairs

We finally went out and got new dining room chairs. After a delicious lunch at Saravaanas we went to Stickley. The original idea was to get a few more chairs like the one we already have, after looking in the show room we decided on something completely different. I just hope that our old chairs will survive until the new ones are delivered in 8 to 10 weeks.

Hey, NYC crowd!

On Science Friday they said there's a Western Tanager in central park right now. They usually live in Oregon up to BC. It's about 6 inches long. Here's a picture.

This is actually Eliza signed in as Mom

Sorry... I know most of you don't like youtubes...

An Accomplishment

While Popop and Kalyani were in NYC, I was inspired by Ashwani's cleaning and tossing in their basement. I came home and started on boxes in the garage. This morning I took all of this 'good' stuff to Goodwill. They even have a friendly person come out the door and help me deliver the goods, including early computer manuals (I asked) !

Nice NYC weekend

Dad, Noah, and I went to NYC for Macbeth, etc. Had a lovely time. Ashwani's nephew Junnu has moved there.

News from NYC

Noah and Chandran all dressed up for Carnegie Hall

Junnu

Madhu, Kalyani and Noah came to visit us on Thursday. It was very nice to see them all and to finally show off our apartment to Kalyani. On Friday Kalyani and Madhu went to see “The Scottish Play” at BAM and Chandran and Noah went to Carnegie Hall. I stayed home and watched Jumanji with Chiara. On Saturday Noah went off to Boston and we had a lovely lunch at Saravana Bhavan in the evening Ashwani’s nephew, Junnu, came over for dinner. He is just started working in NYC.

Tuscany

The following email came yesterday:

I'm writing regarding your booking of P.......... in December 2008.

We have been told that it might be very very difficult to heat P.............
during the winter season.
In order to avoid any problems of sickness or any disappointments of our
services we have decided, with great regret, to cancel your booking.

We would be very pleased to suggest some other houses in Tuscany. If you are
interested , would you please let me know the exact size of your party.
Please precise the number and age of any children.

Discussion and opinions please. They will refund the 1800 euros. My thought was to cancel completely. Stay in US. However, I am home alone. When talking to M. and S. I got other opinions. Please comment. Thanks.

DNA

Maybe one of us should get DNA tested. I saw one service for $400 (and, they guarantee some Irish heritage). We could pool our resources, since the info would be common to us, for the most part. Then, we could bet on the results. I'll work up a book (3-1 Scots, 10-1 Dutch, 1-1 Indian, etc.). So who's game? I nominate Kamala.

MY ARM!!!

Well I've figured out how to kinda type with 2 hands. Makes things a little easier considering I had to type up 2 papers this week. Also, I've figured out how to put my hair up which I didn't think I could do. Changing shirts is an issue; so is showering with a plastic bag. It's been a really stressful week. My roommate refused to give me the bottom bunk, I had a lot of work, etc etc. Also I think the Vicodin is making me depressed (I talked to Shira and she had that side effect too when she had to take it). BUT it helps me sleep, relieves the pain, and suppresses my appetite. Annnywho I'm leaving to catch a train in like half an hour and then heading home!! BAH I can't wait. SPRING BREAK WOOOoOOooo

Still Awaiting Info

So. it's been a "great" week capped by today's theft of everything except his license from Jim's wallet while he was swimming at his health club. The thieves managed to charge $4000 before we called in. Jim didn't even know till I called him due to a fraud early warning from our Citibank card saying he had charged $1000 at Macy's. Which he would never do so he checked his wallet et voila, rien!! (Ask Hannah).
Anyway, Mom could you tell me your CA plans again? Of course, now we have to wait for our new cards before booking the trip, so we have time.
Looking forward to Noah's visit-will have a full house with Trish and Sam's camp friend Matt coming for the concert. Then on Sunday, we will be celelbrating our Irish heritage w/ Chuck and Cynth, Keith and Luciana, the Ericksons and the Johnsons-busy weekend.

Info , please

Could everyone comment with their California dates, and, Dad could you comment with the Stratford info-I know I have received much of this info before but I am almost 50, so I deleted a lot of it by accident. Also, Noah, are you up for a family (Calvin) dinner on Sunday, or did you have other plans? Was thinking of seeing who could come for a traditional Irish dinner-you know over cooked food. Actually I always do a corned beef dinnerr this time of year.

Nick and Laura

These photos were taken on a field trip twin’s class went on last week. Sorry for the small size, one of the other moms posted them and I got them from her web site. Laura is in the orange coat.
I went to the parent teacher conference at Nick and Laura’s school today. It went well. They both have improved greatly since the last one. Even Nicky is becoming much easier to deal with in class and Laura is doing really well.

Chiara's Recital

This is mostly for Eliza- Chiara's spring Recital this year will be on Tuesday March 25th at 7:00PM.

A Different Concert

This is mostly for Noah- On Friday the 14th we have tickets to see The Philadelphia Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall (Bartok's The Miraculous Mandarin Suite, Debussy's Nocturnes and Holst's Planets). Would you do me the honor of accompanying me? Otherwise, you could baby-sit.

Concert

I now have nobody from my end going, so if you want there are six tickets total and I only need one for myself.

Please Help

3/2/08: Another 3 or 4 weeks of hibernation.

I welcome suggestions for my history club year. I need to present a topic in December for next years papers. The idea needs to have about 25 subtopic possibilities. Some previous topics: That wonderful year, Natural History, American Indians, By Design, Religions of the World, Pulitzer Prize Winners, Great Rivers of North America and many more, this club is 108 year old. Thanks
