Lake House Bath Room Renovation
Our carpenter, Rick, broke the bath tub in 'millions' of pieces to haul it out. It is make of iron (or steel)
covered in porcelain. There were 2 layers of board under our visible floor covering, before what you see as the floor in the picture. The second one was soft. Both removed. Rick has removed the knotty pine top layer to the left, as the new shower is about 1 &1/2 inches wider than the tub was. He hopes that will help make room, space is a premium.
He will build some shelves, but we are going to wait to see what the space looks like before making the design.

College Update: Senior Year
Today was the first day of classes. I only had 2 classes, 5 hours between the them. This morning was applied animal behaviour with Dr. Georgia Mason and Pet nutrition with Dr. Jim Atkinson or something. Both of the profs are extremely british. The voice in my head now sounds very much like Emma Watson. I enjoyed both classes. The one with Dr. Mason looks interesting. We are going to look into why animals do things. The other one will be about what we should feed our pets, primarily cats and dogs.
I moved into my new house on Sunday, Heather had already moved in, but was in Ottowa at the time of my arrival. The other 2 girls, I'm going to assume sisters, moved around 8pm Monday night, but left around 2am with their mother. I have not seen them since, but I think they came back around midnight last night.
I am currently getting over a cold so I'm going to cut this short because I have a short attention span. If you have questions, ask Susi. She'll probably know the answer.

No more red door.
Chiara & Laura on the first day of school. |
Chiara took part in the rose ceremony. This a a lovely ritual at Stainer. The 12 grade students take on a buddy in the first grade class. At the beginning of the year they give the child a rose. At the end of the year the child gives them a rose.
