Our carpenter, Rick, broke the bath tub in 'millions' of pieces to haul it out. It is make of iron (or steel)covered in porcelain. There were 2 layers of board under our visible floor covering, before what you see as the floor in the picture. The second one was soft. Both removed. Rick has removed the knotty pine top layer to the left, as the new shower is about 1 &1/2 inches wider than the tub was. He hopes that will help make room, space is a premium.
He will build some shelves, but we are going to wait to see what the space looks like before making the design.
