Favorite Find

Please open the link to see my favorite genealogy find so far. Toward the bottom you see the Cantonwines. (It says Cantononne, but on the original it clearly says Cantonwine.) Charles and Julia are  Mom's and Aunt Brenda's great-great grandparents.

Especially when you consider that the Great-aunts had poor Elmer incarcerated for associating with "a certain Chinaman". It would seem that his father would have known A LOT of Chinamen.

Looks like Laura was a family name after all.

Laura lived long and may have prospered. She and her husband moved to Santa Cruz in the 1870s, and she died in San Francisco in 1934 at the age of 81.

This list of nationalities and occupations was very interesting to me and Bob, having just watched part of Ken Burns "The West." I completely recommend this documentary. You can get it on Amazon.
