went to antoine's new apartment at 55th and lexington. he started an amazing shoe collection. the sparkly ones there are christian louboutains, and the black ones are python from dior. he's crazy.
marie tried on these diors.
we went to a thrift store where i tried on this hideous $900 dress and the owner was really mean. antoine bought some pants. we also went to the prada store and tried on shoes for antoine's collection. i've never worn such expensive shoes before. he didn't buy any.
marie's kind of boyfriend, natti, is a pianist and we went to his show. this is outside. antoine doesn't like hugs.

pictures from new york.
Hi
Well-I don't have much to report, but have not blogged in so long, I thought I should. Both kids are home. Eliza just got back from a two day trip to NYC w/ a friend. Kalyani and Ewa are heading down today. Why is everyone going except me?!!! :( Oh well-it's called getting a new puppy, I guess. Sam started school today and seems fairly cheerful about it. I have started putting in a lot of hours at work. Going on home visits to the children-I do 10 and Liz does 10, and getting the room in shape-daunting. I actually am looking forward to getting back to work this year-it looks like a fun group.
Am really looking forward to a couple of peaceful days at the lake this weekend to finish up the summer.

School starts on the 5th and I gotta say I'm not too excited. Right now I am currently eating an unfrosted poptart! They are so much better than the frosted ones because they aren't too sweet, but they aren't bitter. It is very yummy!!If Noah reads this I have an important message for him: I AM NOT GETTING NEW FRIENDS!!!

Salzburg ll
The Opera was Benvenuto Cellini by Berlioz (SP?). Its a very light opera, I think the girls liked it, it was funny. Yes we did show Laura the photo, she was Happy to see A and the girls. The concert last night was great, we have another one tonight.
I have a question for Kalyani: Will you be picking upm Hannah in Newark? If not Iwill hire a van to come get us.

Salzburg
Hi We're in Salzburg with 4 days left to go. We went to see an opera last night with Hannah and Chiara. It was fun. Tonight we go hear Malher's 9th. I'm looking forward to it.
Hey, its Hannah.
I still like Belgian food the best(long live waffles), probably because I don't like hotdogs. Is Jo reading Stardust yet? If not please hit her.(insert smack here) Thank you Susi. See y'all soon.

Home from Alaska
I have been attempting to post for 3 days, but have been hung up on the pics, yet once again. And Alaska must have pictures as the scenery is stunning. Then again, the photos do not really do Alaska justice. I guess it is just my point of view.
The whole trip was pleasant. The land 'cruise' was beautiful and informative. We traveled by coach and domed train from Fairbanks stopping at Denali and on to Seward where we boarded the 'Summit'. Someone else carried our bags the whole time, not bad! In Denali Nat'l Park, we had a bus trip to the end of the road with an excellent driver/guide. We saw at distance, the animals we should see there, the Dall Sheep, elk, carabu, grizzly bears.
The ship leg of the trip had delicious food, beautifully presented. We took advantage of only a fraction of the activities on board. The ship stopped at Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Icy Straight Point, each for 6-8 hours. The salmon were running, we saw eagles at a close distance, from sea kayaks (Brenda, Don and me)
Our stateroom and hotel rooms were all next door to Brenda and Don, also very nice. Considering that some 2,000 people were on this gigantic ship. The land part had 4 buses. This was a very different experience from our usual mode of travel!
We rented a car in Vancouver and drove to Sequim to see the Sokkappas. It was especially nice, since Mark and his kids and Balraj's sister were there also. Then on to Seattle where we visited Sarah Ison and her family.
I give up on the photos. I miss Noah and Hannah also!! Oh, Alaska was not hot. It is hot here.

Nothing to Report
I have nothing to report, but I do feel that someone should post something. So I'm posting. It's hot and muggy. The Simpsons Movie was good, but kind of preachy. I look forward to the DVD release of Blades of Glory. I miss Noah and Hannah a lot. Especially Hannah, as Noah is callable.

Quiet House
We got back today from dropping Noah at school. We had a lovely time in Ithaca, and Cornell--especially the ILR school--looked great. But it's very quiet here. Hannah is in Switzerland with Chan and Sara, and I haven't been able to retrieve Buster from his girlfriend's house yet, either. I went to the grocery store and became emotional in front of the fridge case--will we still go through oj at a high enough rate to warrant the big jug? I think not.
The pictures: First is Noah with Ashwani and Ezra Cornell. The second is Cornell from my friend Naomi's sister's deck. She has a cottage on the lake. It was very pretty and impossible to photograph. The third is a collection of cairns people have left near the waterfall at the state park next to our hotel. I don't think I've chosen the best picture of them.

Hi all-Just writing to say how much I loved the movie, Once. Irish, slow, but it really grows on you. If you see it, call me for a piece of information-I think you need to see it first. Otherwise a pretty uneventful summer. Thank God for Tintin. What would I do without him pooping around the house? Starting to gear up for school. Looking forward to Labor Day at the Lake.
Hello From Paris
Paris has been great. We love the hotel, thank you Kamala. We went and saw Notre Dame today and walked around the Latin Quarter. We also went to the Luxemgurg Gardens. Unfortunately you had to pay to use the playground, and Nicky had a fit. Tomarrow Hannahs getting presents for her siblings.

Home
Most of us are back home in NY. Chiara stayed back to finish camp. She will join us on Monday when Ashwani brings Hannah. We had a great time at the Lake. Though it’s nice to be home, I love my apartment. Of course we are off again next week for our three-week trip to Europe.
Maya and the girls
Chiara, me, Nick, Ruth, Jake, Winsome, Chandran and Laura.
