We also got a lot of snow
Because we got about two feet of very wet, dense snow, my friends and I decided to build an igloo. About 3,000 lbs of snow later, this is what we accomplished:
From left to right: Sasha, Jason, Cole, Evan, and Celine. This is the outside of the igloo. It was constructed by creating snow bricks molded out of crates.
We then hollowed out a passageway from the outside of the igloo towards the windows of a room in the basement of the house.
Finally, we dug a cavern with benches large enough to seat 6, and with access from the windows of the basement room. It took 8 hours and about 30 people to finish, but it was absolutely worth it.

I feel happy, too!
Had a great week. Florida was cold , but lovely. Naples is extremely upscale. However, we saw a pair of bald eagles!!, a mother dolphin w/ two babies, numerous gators, and so many beautiful birds. I really liked it-great dining and shopping.
Then NYC-the service for Mr. Caiola was really nice-Sara spoke and did beautifully, as well as Larry and a colleague. (Sara- I just looked at the book and picture from Austria-it brought tears to my eyes) Then we went to Sette Mezzo for a nice reception. I enjoyed spending time with their friend Bert. She had been friends w/Sara's Mom since DC. Then tonight Chiara and I had a great evening out dining at Ruby Foo's, and seeing Hair (I got tix today at TKTS in the South street Seaport). We saw Narayan and family, also danced on stage at the end (I told Chiara I would be up there and she came with me-I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did!) Let the sun shine in!

Timpani, Valentines and Travel
Besides good timpani playing, and lovely valentines, we have a Lisbon connection. Nancy knows a family staying there for a year. I emailed and received a response with good suggestions. They have a blog that looks good: http://www.sophiawandering.

Birthday celebration
Chiara had her birthday celaebration with Isabella. Yesterday they went to see Percy Jackson with their friends, It was fun, aparently not at all like the book ( I went too). They had a sleepover at Isabella's house and today Chandran took them over to Hoboken to Carlo's Bakery, home of The Cake Boss. It was fun, they were filming.
