Today's Little House description: Laura's jealousy of the new baby causes her to wish him (sic) he had never come, and when he dies shortly afterward she is so guilt- ridden that she runs away and asks the Lord to let her take the baby's place beacouse she believes her father prefers him.

Well it has to be closer to the spirit of the books than the Jane Eyre we just subjected ourselves to.
