Spring is so beautiful.  Blogger has changed its format, new things  to learn.

Six new chicks
Drum Joy           They played a composition by an Eastman School student., using  gongs, voice, rocks, recorder, as well as the usual percussion instruments.  One of the really beautiful method was dipping a gong or a triangle into water .  It bends the sound!
Susi with the composer,  Weijun Chen

Beautiful flower photo! Nice change of format. Wonderful that Susi is having such good experiences.

The performance was just one piece about half an hour long. The composer is almost a kid. He told me that he was 10 when he composed his first piece, a song. Almost all his musical training has been in China. Incredible piece of work and the group was so good in its performance.

Is there any video available for this? Sure hope so. Went to the Boston Ballet w/ Cynthia today, haven't seen ballet in ages. Don Quixote w/ choreography by Nureyev. It was delightful.
