I saw the hawk again this morning. I had been chatting with new neighbor Richie, so I asked him about, you know, 'taking' it. He said he's pretty sure it's not allowed, but I should ask the DEC.
my sister has had problems with hawks. Apparently the cds don't work. she has part of her outside area covered. She did call the DEC once, a hawk got stuck in the pen. they were not much concerned about her chickens, only with the well being of the hawk.

Don thinks that your pen is not too big for a cover. You would have to put stakes up in the middle, but it would work.
I think Don is right. If the netting comes as 14' X 75' pieces, we can put in some poles with tees at the top and
drape it and staple it to the fence.
