Makeshift Tree

This year we decided not to get a Christmas tree because we would not be here for the days leading up to Christmas. I didn't feel in the Christmas spirit without a tree, so i decided to hang up some lights to replace our tree this year. I think it helps.

I'm not doing a tree either, and it's kind of sad, especially as I'm hosting two holiday parties (Calvins on the 20th; staff on the 21st). I'm putting greenery with lights on the mantle. Looked at little artificial trees, but thet're expensive!

looks good Kalyani. This is the first year we felt justified in getting a big tree.

That was Susi--the post, the pics AND the decorating.

Nice job, Susi.
I need to get out chili lights up for a bit of cheer.
I'm off to Suzi's with some pots for her office craft fair tomorrow.

I don't miss the tree so much, but I find I miss the smell.

The smell is nice.

I find that if you use a wreath as a pillow, you get much the same effect as if you had atree.
