i am in a hunt and peck mode: feeling to the arm during the night. i took the pain pill as suggested, now a dull ache. dr.miller said he thinks the repair will turn out well, took an extra hourin surgery. the rest is up to me. no driving is the biggest handicap, i should live in nyc. the exercises start tomorrow.
interesting thing: i had an incredible phantom arm yesterday. it was so real. i felt i was raising it from the elbow 90 degrees. i would reach with my good arm to lower it, not there. the phantom arm moved closer to its expected location all day. then about 9 p.m.. when i was going to sleep my fingers would curl onto my other hand, but not uncurl. i started worrying about its being permanent. i was relieved to find it works this morning.

i did. like ashwani said, this surgery hurts.
Hi Janice,
So glad to see you are up and about and already posting! Glad the surgery went well--even if Dr M did have to spend a little extra time. No driving-a total bummer--but for how long? I'm always up for a drive. I'd be happy to do grocery shopping or drs. appointments, or whatever you need.

Wow, the phantom arm thing is weird. That must be what amputees feel. Luckily your arm is still there.
Hi Janice,
Glad to hear that your surgery when well.
Hope you have speedy recovery.
