College Update: Home
For those of you who were not aware, I have returned home. Finals ended awhile ago. No need to panic, I have passed everything. Even biochem and physics. I will never have to take a straight chem or physics course ever again. Thank goodness. Now that I am writing this I realize that I don't have a lot to say. It'll be a short post. I haven't been doing much. I have been doing some cleaning and other stuff at Grandma and Popop's. For money. I go into Rochester sometimes, to dine with Hannah. The food is better in Guelph, but you get used to it I guess. I spend a lot of quality time with Buster. I have also discovered that driving isn't so bad. I've been doing a lot of it lately. That and buying salt. I have bought a lot of salt, for water softening. I can't think of anything else to say. Oh I did think of something, mostly for Chiara, I have discovered a new band. Well not new but new to me. They are called Mcfly. Look them up. Right, well, that's it.

Spring

Spring has arrived in NYC, even though the temperature is not quite there yet. Chandran and Nick had their buzz cuts on Friday. On Saturday the twins, Chandran and I went to The Chelsea
Garden Center and bought plants for the terrace. Chiara went to Brooklyn, she volunteered
in Prospect Park with her school. Laura had her first soccer game on Sunday.

What pictures to choose? Kamala and I spent a week with first Suzanne and Murray, then the party moved up to Brenda and Don's.

Don with Art -center of dismantled hot water heater. We had a great time with family, good food, art and the coast. Thank you all dear family.
I am sorry to move the pictures that Eliza posted of the marathon explosions. Then today Boston is locked down .

Boston update
The woman on the far left with her back to us is Luciana, trying to contact Keith on the phone
Uncle Keith took this before the explosions. Recognize those flags on the left from the footage? That's how close he was.
This photo is from the news but you can compare it to the one above...
He was SO lucky he wasn't closer. I think Grandma was looking out for him...
I also had friends near Copley who were in lockdown at hotels for hours. It still feels so surreal. I'm grateful no one I know was hurt. Thanks to everyone who contacted me to make sure Sam and I were all right.

College Update: Finals
I am taking a quick breather from studying biochem. I really dislike chemistry. Like really really don't like it. It's up there with twilight. That's how much I dislike it. I would go as far as saying I loathe it. I just cannot find it interesting. I thought it was just my prof, but nope, it is just awful all by itself. I have only had one exam so far. My next one is Saturday morning, at the crack of dawn. I'm not usually awake at that time. Then I have 2 on Monday, an hour apart. The last exam is Tuesday evening. I'm really not looking forward to that, but that's life I guess. My sane housemate is leaving on Saturday, which leaves me by myself with our other housemate. Not really looking forward to that. We had a house meeting to discuss our finals and when we would be leaving and such. Apparently, our housemate from China is staying through the summer. We also came back from Easter to find a combo of meat juice and soy sauce had spilled in the fridge and onto the floor. It was gross. It only got cleaned up because Heather's mom, my housemate, refused to leave until it was cleaned up. I'm glad I wasn't there when that happened. I was gonna my the maker of the mess clean it up, but I didn't get there in time. I only have about 6 days left here. It would be very lovely if whoever comes to pick me up brings boxes and newspaper to pack my dishes and also ikea bags. I'll have everything else all packed and then just pack the lasts when whoever picks me up gets here. I keep getting dirty looks from people who walk into the library because I am using a very comfy chair as a foot rest. It's like I'm in a little box. It is quite comfortable, so I can't bring myself to care. Anyway, back to studying.

Trouble brewing
Well, I cleaned out 7 months of chicken poop. I know, really bad not to do it more often, BUT it has snowed for months! Anyway, it was satisfying to finally clean out the coop. The Trouble Brewing? See the big black bucket against the hen house? Well, there were 2 holes dug, a stick would not find the end, under the bucket. I filled them up replaced the rocks that is the 'bed' of the coop, and this morning, there are larger holes and one more. They seem to be connected. Filled them again, of course. What are they? Are they working on the hen house floor to open it up? They could easily go in through the chicken's door. I do not see unidentified poop, hmm.
