Memorial week end
Today we went to Coney Island, first time this season, as always a very mixed experience, we always remember it as being better than it is, so our first trip is always disappointing. Today was a mix, the weather was cool, but then again this meant the place was not as crowded as usual, making it more relaxing. Unfortunately the twins got sun block in their eyes so the end of our stay was filled with tears. On the way home they both fell asleep, then Laura woke up with a desperate need to use the bathroom, she and Chandran left us the moment we got to Manhattan. We all made it back home safe.
Yesterday was another first, Chandran Chiara and I went to see a movie we all could enjoy, Star Trek, and we did, good flick if you like that kind of stuff.

Abundance of Caution
Chiara's school is closing for a week. The upper school closed yesterday after eight 7th-graders were out with (regular non-swine) flu, and the lower school closed today. Too many kids absent. Chiara would be grateful for suggestions on how to spend her free time.

Happy Mother's Day!
We went out for our mother's day celebration lunch yesterday, to Rosa's. Today I brought Chiara to the soccer game, they lost 1-0, but it was on a penalty kick and a very bad call by the ref. He was a dad from the other team. Tonight we had Indian and the kids (mostly Chiara) helped Chandran make puris, you may also notice that Nick and Chandran have their spring hair cuts.

Rain, rain and more rain.
It has been raining here since Friday and it will probably keep on raining till next week. The sun did make an appearance yesterday afternoon; this was good for me as I went to a protest at city hall. Parents whose kids have been wait-listed at their local public schools organized it. I arrived down town early, as I wanted to go to J & R for some things. I then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. It was really nice a lot of people, mostly tourists, strolling on the bridge, enjoying those few hours of sunshine.
