Here is an article that was in the NY Times this morning.

Hmmm-that is pretty outrageous. At least PS 6 is only over by 13 kids. However, it sounds like they are required to accomodate all the zoned kids and they are waiting to see how it all falls out before they make plans-they must be keeping their fingers crossed that enough kids go elsewhere. I still think you should make a polite fuss-after all, you do have one child accepted and it will be an additional hardship if you neeed to send them to different schools.

I agree with Kam. It seems like he'll get in--he's unlikely (1/13) to be 13th on the list. But it's certainly worth being politely insistent about why he should be excluded and not Laura. That seems outrageous to me, but of course in this case showing outrage would be counterproductive.

I need to get more information from the school. I will try and go in again tomorrow, this time without kids and with more time. I don't think he has been wait listed, he has not been seated yet pending review.
