I saw him on one of those TV talent shows, I don't remember which, and the judges totally didn't get it. They treated him like some sort of completely clueless benign crazy, as if he didn't have an idea. It made me kind of mad.
Thoth is a street performer that can often be seen in NYC, although he travels west for the winter. A short documentary about him won the Oscar some years ago. The first time I saw him was w/ my kids, Chan and Chiara (pre-twins). Chiara crept up towards him very slowly while we wondered what she was doing. She grabbed a brochure and scurried back-it was very, very funny. Even Thoth smiled.

I fear Thoth is doomed to go through life completely misunderstood. I'm glad ha has a partner. Also his mom seemed very supportive in the documentary.
