i like planting close because it helps to keeps the weeds down. sunset magazine calls it " French intensity garden ". However i do pick my potato flowers because i believe the plant will live longer and hopefully this will make bigger spuds. Mom is the queen of potatoes and i'm surpised she hasn't weight in yet.
could be so beautiful. Left coast clan- should I thin my potato plants? This is my first veg. garden, I think I planted everything too close.

My potatoes are doing well this year (knock on wood) after several years of the blight. I'm hoping they are resistant.
