Apres Parade
Busy week end
A robin is nesting on the woodpile of our front porch.
Joanna and Hannah marched in the Brockport parade Saturday.
The French students from Renne are visiting Brockport High School for 10 days. Mamu on the left is staying up the hill.
It is raining today, which is good for the approximately 20 Douglas Fir I have planted. That is 1/5 th of the total.

College College College
Finally, after months and months of constant college conversations and stress about getting everything in, I have decided to go to URI and sent in my deposit.
I think the head of the engineering department at syracuse put it best, "All the programs are accredited and good, it's a matter of choosing the one you feel comfortable in." That's not exactly what he said, but you get the idea. RIT is of course a god among men in terms of engineering programs, but I'm not sure, at all, that I'm even going to stick to engineering and I'd feel a huge need to commit to it at RIT.
Syracuse was not my bag. I don't like its location or campus very much, its classrooms weren't the best either. UVM was pretty good and my big decision was basically URI or UVM, but I would much rather be near a big city (Providence/Boston), plus I think I know someone that goes to URI, maybe. Not to mention the scholarship.
My plan right now in terms of what I'll study is a program call the IEP, international engineering program. It's a 5 year program where you major in a language and any field of engineering, in your 4th or 5th year you do a paid internship abroad for 6 months (I'll go to Spain or Latin America).
Now I just wish senior year was over. Seriously.

Spring
We planted our terrace today. Laura and I went to The Chelsea garden center to get the plants. Nick was home sick, Laura is sick now, and Chiara had a sleep over at Isabella's. Nick requested yellow flowers Laura picket the pink ones. On the way home the cab driver sold me a CD of his music. Some very sappy Spanish ballads, Laura liked it. Nick is feeling better.

Great Link
Here is Mom's friend Barbara's flickr site. You (esp. Chiara) have to check out her toad movies.
My friend Sandy came on Saturday, she left this morning. It was wonderful to see her; we had a lot of fun. Saturday night we left the kids in the care of Maria and went to Artisanal for dinner. Sunday we left the kids in care of Chandran and went shopping. We first met up with our friend Annette for a late breakfast that lasted on to lunch and then headed for Barney’s. We spent more than 5 hours there and came out only with new lipstick. I know to most of you this does not sound like fun but for us it was great. We looked at every single item of clothing. Yesterday Sandy went out with a Greek friend who was visiting NY with her family. Kamala took Chiara to the zoo, Chiara is on vacation this week, and later came over for dinner, we had been hoping to also see Eliza, but alas her Monday class was canceled and she stayed home for an extra day.
Happy Earth Day!

Please do not use the sound on mom's post, thank you!! If you would like to know what is being said, it is just me complaining about something and I sound really stupid. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Eventful day
Today is a beautiful 77 degrees. I went to the park with the twins this morning. It was very nice said hi to the many police officers on 79th street (the Pope will be staying in our neighborhood). After some discussion on what play ground to go to we decided on the three bears. Chiara had her first track meet today it went well she came in 5th in the 300. Her School got 2 place. We watched the Pope go by this evening as you can see they closed down Park Ave and 79th street.

Tinner's Big Adventure
Tin tin is to be shaved this week.
He is looking pretty good, but he is a bit matted, you can't really tell from this picture.
Here's a picture of him after his previous shaving (they did not shave his head or tail that time, they will be shaved this time):
Here is a real picture, he looks much smaller in real life than he did before, it's weird.

Spring
The pond is full. Mr. Mallard is there in the pic, the Mrs. maybe off laying eggs. The gold finches are turning yellow again. I ordered a rain barrel and rain chain. Next year, perhaps they will be available locally. I gave my History Club paper on Friday, Politics and Food. It was good. Lots of discussion. This reading has caused changes: I am buying grass feed meat now and food as locally as possible. Oh, another result from the paper- I will try to grow some vegetables. I purchased some boards to make 2 raised beds (ea. 5 x 18 feet). I've heard that I might be providing meals for the critters.

Important Message from Jo rocks
We're back!!!! It was hot and humid in Florida. It sucked, especially during marching. I thought I was going to pass out. I liked Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom best. We went on the dinosaur in Animal Kingdom, it was wicked scary, but somewhat fun. We also went on Snow White's scary adventures in Magic Kingdom it was scary also. The workshop we played in was fun. We played Tarzan music then put it to a movie. It was all sight read and we played pretty darn well if I do say so myself. We also went on the teacups 4 times in a row. They spun in a circle in a circle in a circle, It was mad awesome. The first night we were there me and Hannah were miserable, but it became tolerable after a good night sleep. I really don't like the people on my bus anymore, they drove me crazy. I told Hannah that one of them was going to wake up under water if they don't get any better. They were mostly couples. Eh! I'm glad I'm back and sleeping in my room alone!!I have to sleepy now. Good Night!!

Why I Hate Technology:
We have this system at Cornell called "blackboard." It's accessible as a website, and professors or TA's or whatever can post articles or homework, or even general course announcements. You enroll yourself for each class at the beginning of the semester, and it also adds you to the listserve for the class. For some reason, I have been removed from the enrollment list for the human resources management class. As a result, I have also been removed from the listserve. Because of that, I did not get the e-mail informing me that 8:40 AM class was canceled this morning. It was quite frustrating.

News from NY
Chiara had her first soccer game of the season today. Her team lost but they did score. Chandran is not assistant coach this time around, this is good news, I can finally take Chiara to a game and enjoy it. Before with Chandran coaching whenever I went to a game I had to watch Laura and Nick, it was not much fun.
Chiara’s piano teacher, Rachel, had her baby on Thursday, a boy, very cute.
